The Opportunity
My client is seeking a Trailer Technician to join their engineering team at Gatwick. In this hands‑on role, you will maintain and repair trailers and associated equipment, ensuring the highest operational and safety standards are met. This is a key position supporting safe, reliable and efficient airport operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Repair trailers and dollies as directed by the Workshop Supervisor
- Carry out inspections both airside and in the workshop, reporting all defects before commencing repairs
- Collect equipment for servicing and repair activities
- Accurately complete jobs and inspections using SAP, including recording work completed and non‑productive time
- Keep the Workshop Supervisor informed of any additional work required, parts needed or defective items
- Liaise with stores for parts supply, ensuring correct labelling and storage
- Quarantine and report defective tooling or equipment immediately
- Complete daily timesheets accurately and on time
Outcomes and Performance Measures
- Delivery of high‑quality repair and maintenance work
- Accurate, clear and timely completion of paperwork
- Effective use of time recording systems
- Full compliance with attendance, safety and operational standards
Health, Safety and ISO Compliance
- Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Use PPE and safety equipment correctly at all times
- Report accidents, near misses and unsafe conditions immediately
- Comply with ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 standards
- Ensure safe handling, segregation and disposal of waste
