About the Role: We are looking for an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join our team, working on the production of structural steel rafters and similar components used in the manufacturing of building frameworks. The role involves reading fabrication drawings, preparing materials, and MIG welding mild steel to a high standard. Key Responsibilities: * MIG welding mild steel structural components (e.g. rafters, beams, brackets). * Interpreting and working from engineering/fabrication drawings. * Cutting, measuring, and preparing steel sections for fabrication. * Operating workshop equipment (grinders, drills, saws, etc.). * Quality-checking finished welds and assemblies to meet required standards. * Working safely and efficiently in a busy fabrication workshop. Requirements: * Proven experience in MIG welding mild steel (structural steel fabrication). * Ability to read and understand technical drawings. * Skilled in cutting, measuring, and fabricating steel sections. * Good attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work. * Must be able to demonstrate ability to work on and with structural steel either through previous work and/or references * Understanding of workshop health & safety practices.
