An established and growing electrical manufacturing business is looking to recruit an experienced Electrical Fitter to join its production team in Washington. This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist engineering environment working on bespoke low voltage (LV) switchgear and control panel solutions for a wide range of industrial sectors.
The Role
Reporting to the Team Leader, you’ll be responsible for the assembly, wiring and pre-testing of bespoke LV switchgear and control panels. The role requires strong technical ability, attention to detail and the capability to work from engineering drawings and wiring schematics.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and build switchgear and control panels to engineering specifications
- Complete wiring, terminations and electrical connections to a high standard
- Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
- Maintain accurate build and test documentation
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Installation or similar
- Previous experience within electrical manufacturing, panel building or switchgear assembly
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
- Good understanding of electrical systems and components
Desirable
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Previous switchgear manufacturing experience
- ECS/CSCS card
- Experience with MCCs, busbar systems or package substations
