We are currently recruiting for an experienced Welder Fabricator to join a busy steel stockholding business based in Wallsend. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled individual looking for stable, full-time work within a well-established company.
The Role
Working within a busy fabrication workshop, you will be responsible for manufacturing and modifying a range of steel products to customer specifications. You will work with structural and general steel sections, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- MIG welding mild steel components.
- Fabricating steel products from technical drawings and customer specifications.
- Cutting, drilling, grinding and preparing steel sections.
- Measuring and marking materials accurately.
- Operating workshop machinery and fabrication equipment safely.
- Inspecting finished work to ensure it meets quality standards.
- Assisting with general workshop duties and maintaining a clean, safe working environment.
- Working efficiently to meet production deadlines.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience as a Welder Fabricator is essential.
- Confident MIG welding mild steel.
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience working with structural steel, box section, plate and general steel products.
- Good attention to detail and a high standard of workmanship.
- Reliable, hardworking and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
