The Company
CDM Recruitment are working in partnership with a well-established service, logistics, and facilities provider to the Oil & Gas and Energy sectors, supporting major global organisations through their infrastructure, warehousing, and logistics operations. Our client is now looking to strengthen their Warehousing & Logistics team with a forward-thinking, IT-savvy individual who can grow into a key role within the business.
The Role
This role would suit someone who has progressed from a warehouse or shopfloor environment into stock control, inventory, auditing, or quality-focused roles, and is now looking to take the next step. While this remains a hands-on operational position, the focus is firmly on inventory accuracy, systems improvement, process modernisation, and ownership of warehouse data and controls, rather than purely forklift driving. Youβll work closely with the Warehouse Supervisor and wider operations team, acting as a key link between physical warehouse activity and system-based control.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of stock control and inventory accuracy across the warehouse.
- Maintain and improve warehouse systems, processes, and reporting (SAP or similar ERP experience highly desirable).
- Support daily warehouse operations, ensuring materials are stored, handled, and issued correctly.
- Assist the Warehouse Supervisor with coordination of activities and operational planning.
- Identify opportunities to automate, modernise, and streamline warehouse and inventory processes.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, client requirements, and HSE standards.
- Complete reports, audits, and documentation accurately and consistently.
- Act as a proactive, self-starting presence within the warehouse, taking responsibility rather than requiring close supervision.
- Support logistics and lifting operations as required (training provided where needed).
About You
- Background in warehouse, stores, inventory, stock control, auditing, or quality roles.
- Comfortable working with warehouse systems, ERP software (e.g. SAP) and IT-based processes.
- A modern communicator with confidence dealing with supervisors, management, and colleagues at all levels.
- Proactive, resilient, and able to work independently with minimal hand-holding.
- Keen to develop into a long-term role with increased responsibility.
- Forklift experience is advantageous but not essential β training can be provided.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Strong IT and data-handling skills.
- Understanding of warehouse processes and material flow.
- Experience improving or auditing stock and inventory systems.
- Awareness of HSE principles within an industrial environment.
- Ability to challenge processes constructively and implement improvements.
Whatβs on Offer
- Competitive hourly rate + overtime.
- Stable, long-term role with clear progression and succession opportunity.
- Ongoing training and development, including FLT and operational qualifications if required.
- Opportunity to genuinely influence how the warehouse and inventory function operates in the future.
- Supportive but professional working environment with high standards and expectations.
