CDM Recruitment is recruiting an Area Sales Manager for a market-leading supplier within the electrical sector. This is a field-based role for a commercially driven relationship builder who enjoys being in front of customers, developing existing accounts and winning new business. Key Responsibilities Spend four days per week on the road, typically visiting 4-5 customers per day. Manage and grow relationships with electrical wholesalers, contractors and industrial customers across the Newcastle region. Develop new business and open new accounts within the territory. Achieve agreed sales and gross profit targets through proactive account management. Identify customer requirements and support the preparation of accurate, competitive quotations. Plan your weekly travel and customer meetings effectively. Spend one day per week in the office completing administration, following up quotations and planning future activity. Work closely with internal sales and business development colleagues, who provide support with lead generation. What We're Looking For Proven field sales, account management or business development experience. Strong face-to-face relationship-building and communication skills. A self-motivated, organised and target-driven approach. Full UK driving licence. Experience within electrical, cable, construction or a related technical sector would be a major advantage, although relevant transferable sales experience will be considered. Candidates should be based in the Newcastle area. Package & Benefits Four days field-based and one office/admin day per week. Fully expensed electric company car, company laptop and mobile phone. 22 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing with length of service to a maximum of 25 days. Annual pay review. Company pension: 5% employee contribution and 3% employer contribution. Non-contractual scrap bonus after 12 months' service. Non-contractual Christmas bonus after 12 months' service, starting at one week's wage and increasing with length of service. Summer and winter social events. Option of weekly or monthly pay
