CDM Recruitment are recruiting a Telematics Technician to join their clients in-house team at Heathrow Airport. The role focuses on the installation, maintenance and support of telematics systems across a varied fleet of ground support and specialist equipment. You will be the key point of contact for telematics installations and fault diagnosis, supporting sites locally and across the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Install telematics units across fleet and specialist equipment
  • Fault find, maintain and repair telematics systems
  • Monitor alerts and system performance via telematics platforms (Targa desirable)
  • Respond to on-site technical issues to minimise downtime
  • Take ownership of installations from planning to completion
  • Provide technical support to local site teams
  • Maintain accurate service and installation records
  • Travel to UK sites as required
  • Work in line with health & safety and airport regulations

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

  • Experience in telematics, auto-electrical or electronics engineering
  • Strong understanding of GPS, vehicle electrical or telematics systems
  • Hands-on installation and fault-finding experience
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical manuals
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel across UK sites
  • IT literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Desirable:

  • Experience with plant, fleet vehicles or GSE
  • Airport or airside experience
  • Knowledge of Targa Telematics
  • Auto-electrical or electrical qualifications (Level 3 / HNC / City & Guilds)
