CDM Recruitment are recruiting a Telematics Technician to join their clients in-house team at Heathrow Airport. The role focuses on the installation, maintenance and support of telematics systems across a varied fleet of ground support and specialist equipment. You will be the key point of contact for telematics installations and fault diagnosis, supporting sites locally and across the UK.
Responsibilities
- Install telematics units across fleet and specialist equipment
- Fault find, maintain and repair telematics systems
- Monitor alerts and system performance via telematics platforms (Targa desirable)
- Respond to on-site technical issues to minimise downtime
- Take ownership of installations from planning to completion
- Provide technical support to local site teams
- Maintain accurate service and installation records
- Travel to UK sites as required
- Work in line with health & safety and airport regulations
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
- Experience in telematics, auto-electrical or electronics engineering
- Strong understanding of GPS, vehicle electrical or telematics systems
- Hands-on installation and fault-finding experience
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical manuals
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel across UK sites
- IT literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Desirable:
- Experience with plant, fleet vehicles or GSE
- Airport or airside experience
- Knowledge of Targa Telematics
- Auto-electrical or electrical qualifications (Level 3 / HNC / City & Guilds)
