Our client is a well-established Retail & Commercial Contractor delivering projects across the UK with values of up to £15 million. Due to continued growth, they are currently seeking an experienced Construction Site Manager to oversee and maintain health, safety, & high compliance standards of the project. The project type is a large distribution warehouse and we are looking for candidates that have this type of experience. This role requires a proactive and organised individual with strong knowledge of construction health & safety legislation, who can support site teams, ensure compliance with regulations, and promote a positive safety culture across the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing / managing health & safety compliance across the construction site
  • Ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with current HSE legislation and company policies
  • Conducting regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
  • Identifying hazards and implementing appropriate control measures
  • Delivering site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings
  • Supporting site management and subcontractors to maintain safe working practices
  • Investigating incidents, near misses, and accidents and producing detailed reports
  • Monitoring subcontractor compliance with health & safety procedures
  • Maintaining accurate safety documentation and records
  • Liaising with site management, clients, and regulatory bodies when required

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a Construction Health & Safety Manager or Site Manager equivalent within construction or fit-out projects
  • NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent (desirable)
  • Valid CSCS Card (required)
  • SMSTS or equivalent training (required)
  • 1st Aid at Work Certificate (required)
  • Strong knowledge of UK construction health & safety legislation and best practice
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
