We're supporting a global engineering organisation delivering complex offshore wind projects, looking to appoint a Senior Electrical Engineer with specialist experience in cable and connector systems. This is a technically focused role working across high-voltage inter-array cable systems, covering engineering, testing, and offshore commissioning.
The Role
- You'll play a key role in ensuring the integrity, performance, and successful commissioning of offshore cable systems, working closely with both internal teams and external suppliers.
Key areas include:
- Engineering input across HV cable and connector systems
- Defining termination, testing, and commissioning procedures
- Supporting offshore installation and commissioning activities
- Coordinating with suppliers and project teams
- Specifying and overseeing testing in line with IEC / IEEE / CIGRÉ standards
- Supporting fault analysis, diagnostics, and system performance
What They're Looking For
- Experience within offshore wind cable systems
- Strong knowledge of connectors, terminations, and commissioning/testing
- Understanding of HV testing methods (e.g. VLF, partial discharge, TDR, Tan Delta, DAC)
- Familiarity with IEC / IEEE / ISO / CIGRÉ standards
- Background working with subsea cables and offshore substations
- Comfortable working across both engineering and offshore environments
- Chartered status (or working towards) is advantageous.
