Quantity Surveyor

Location: Gateshead, North East Hours: 37.5 per week Salary: Competitive, based on experience Company Overview: A well-established groundworks contractor specialising in roads, sewers, and infrastructure for housing and commercial developments is expanding its commercial team in Gateshead. We are looking to appoint a motivated Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in groundwork projects to oversee the financial delivery of our works. Key Responsibilities: * Prepare, manage, and report on budgets, forecasts, and cost plans across groundworks projects. * Carry out cost value reconciliation (CVR) and maintain accurate financial records. * Administer subcontracts, variations, and claims to maximise commercial returns. * Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure best value procurement. * Work closely with site teams and clients to ensure commercial and operational alignment. * Maintain compliance with company health, safety, and environmental standards. Requirements: * Minimum 1 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying, within groundworks or civil engineering. * Sound knowledge of groundworks packages such as drainage, foundations, roads, and external works. * Confident in contract administration, cost control, and negotiation. * Capable of managing multiple sites and tight deadlines. * Full UK driving licence. * Right to work in the UK.
