The Company

Our client is a well-established roofing and cladding contractor operating across the North East, working on projects for principal/Tier 1 contractors. It's a relaxed, sociable working culture.

The Role

Due to continued growth, our client is looking to appoint a Procurement Manager to take ownership of material and plant purchasing across live projects. This is a newly created role bringing together buying and contracts coordination into one position, working closely with the existing Contracts Manager, site teams and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of material and plant procurement across live projects, in line with programme requirements.
  • Coordinate deliveries, maintain stock records and liaise with the warehouse manager, suppliers and the in-house fabrication team.
  • Build and maintain key supplier relationships, including regular spend reviews and developing new suppliers.
  • Develop bulk buying programmes for key and preliminary materials.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, schedules and progress reports.
  • Manage the commercial side of procurement – obtaining quotes, signing off invoices and agreeing supplier credit limits.
  • Act as the key point of contact between the project team and suppliers, resolving any issues or delays.
  • Support the Contracts Manager with day-to-day project coordination.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in buying, procurement, contracts coordination or project administration – construction industry background preferred.
  • Comfortable managing change and adapting to a growing, evolving business.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A confident communicator, happy to pick up the phone rather than rely solely on email.

Our client is open to candidates from a range of backgrounds and is more focused on the right attitude and approach.
