We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced and motivated Communications Specialist to join their Corporate Affairs team. This is a varied, hands-on role offering the opportunity to work across both internal and external communications within a fast-paced, project-led environment in the construction sector.
The Role
- Take responsibility for delivering high-quality communications content and PR activity across multiple channels and stakeholders.
- Work with internal teams to generate ideas and plan communications activity.
- Write and produce engaging content for press releases, social media, internal communications and website updates.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to obtain approvals and ensure accuracy.
- Organise PR opportunities and support media activity on live construction sites.
- Visit sites across the North East and Yorkshire to capture content and support PR delivery.
- Manage and coordinate LinkedIn and wider social media activity.
- Support media monitoring activity and track coverage and campaign performance.
- Ensure consistent application of brand guidelines across all communications.
- Support website content updates and uploads via CMS platforms (Umbraco).
About You
- Minimum 5 years' experience in communications, PR or marketing.
- Strong written communication and content creation skills.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders at different levels.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a busy workload.
- Experience producing content for social media, press and internal communications.
- Confident using LinkedIn as part of a communications strategy.
- Good understanding of Microsoft Office packages.
- A proactive, professional and detail-focused approach.
- A full UK driving licence is essential, along with willingness to travel across regional sites.
- Experience within the construction sector is desirable but not essential.
