CDM are currently recruiting for Application Technicians for a client based in Newcastle Upon Tyne. The application technicians are responsible for all of the final testing of systems, once they are built. You will be responsible for testing all fibre optic systems as well as the electrical lines, hydraulic and pneumatic lines. You will do this with continuity testing, to make sure that all those systems are working throughout the entire product. You will also carry out hydrostatic high-pressure testing.
Up to 2 years worth of training will be provided with all the various forms of testing. You will be working in a heavy engineering environment, which is very clean, modern, quiet and slow paced. You are also given a lot of autonomy to work within your small team as our client doesn't believe in having to micro-manage people.
This position is a long-term agency role, which we would expect to last for at least 4 years of consistent work. You may also be offered a permanent role at some point; however, this is not guaranteed.
Basic salary £44012 (inclusive of shift allowance) / £21.16ph.
Shift Information: Continental shift pattern which doesn't involve working weekends. This, along with the very slow pace of work, gives an excellent work/life balance. Day shift 6:45 – 18:45, Night shift 18:45 – 6:45.
Ideally you will have 5+ years experience in a similar engineering or maintenance role.
