We are working with a prominent Regional M&E contractor specializing in delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical services across the North East & Scotland. Their projects span a wide range of sectors, including commercial, residential, healthcare, and industrial. With a strong reputation for excellence and a commitment to innovation and sustainability, They are looking to expand our team by recruiting a talented M&E Quantity Surveyor.
Role Overview:
As an M&E Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the financial and contractual aspects of mechanical and electrical services on various projects. You will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality, while maximizing value and mitigating risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and tenders for M&E services
- Conduct detailed measurement and valuation of works, ensuring accurate pricing and cost control
- Manage subcontractor packages, including procurement, payment applications, and performance evaluations
- Monitor and report on project progress, providing financial forecasts and cash flow analysis
- Identify and manage variations, ensuring they are accurately recorded and valued
- Negotiate and manage contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Provide ongoing financial advice and support to project teams, ensuring profitability
- Prepare and submit final accounts and closeout documentation
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, health and safety standards, and contractual obligations
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor, ideally within a contractor environment
- Strong knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) services and the construction industry
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and financial management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure
- Proficient in cost management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Chartered status with RICS or similar professional body is preferred but not essential
