We are recruiting for an experienced Duty Manager to join a high-profile fleet maintenance operation at Heathrow Airport. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone from a mechanical, fleet, or workshop background who is confident managing teams in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment.
The Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of maintenance operations across airside and landside, ensuring performance, safety, and service delivery targets are consistently met.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team within a busy operational environment
- Ensure all vehicles and equipment are maintained in line with planned schedules
- Drive productivity, efficiency, and service performance
- Manage workshop loading, resource allocation, and prioritisation of work
- Ensure compliance with health & safety and operational standards
- Build effective relationships with internal teams, customers, and suppliers
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
- Ensure all work orders and documentation are completed accurately (SAP)
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a management or supervisory role
- Background in mechanical, fleet, or workshop environments
- Strong leadership and communication skills
