The Company
This privately owned residential developer delivers modern, energy-efficient new-build housing schemes. Their developments typically include:
- 2–4-bedroom houses (semi-detached, terraced, and townhouses)
- Low-rise apartment blocks
- Mixed-tenure communities
- A strong pipeline of affordable housing schemes delivered in partnership with local authorities and housing associations
They already hold a healthy landbank, but with significant growth planned, they are now looking to strengthen their land team with an experienced Land Manager or Senior Land Manager who can identify, secure, and deliver new opportunities.
The Role
As Land Manager / Senior Land Manager, you will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and securing residential development opportunities that align with the company’s growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and appraise new land opportunities across the region (both immediate and strategic).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, agents, promoters, local authorities, and housing associations.
- Lead negotiations on land acquisitions, option agreements, and joint ventures.
- Prepare and present financial appraisals, feasibility studies, and board reports.
- Work closely with internal teams (planning, technical, commercial) to progress sites from acquisition through to planning submission.
- Support the delivery of mixed-tenure and affordable housing schemes.
- Monitor local plans, housing needs, and policy changes to identify future opportunities.
- Represent the business at meetings, consultations, and industry events.
About You
You will be a proactive, commercially minded land professional with a strong understanding of residential development.
Essential Experience:
- Proven track record in land acquisition within housebuilding, residential development, or strategic land.
- Strong negotiation and deal-closing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Excellent understanding of planning processes, viability, and development constraints.
- Established network of contacts across the North (agents, landowners, promoters, local authorities).
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels.
