We are working with a leading public service organisation in Gateshead that is seeking an experienced HGV Vehicle Technician to join their Technical Services Centre. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a dedicated team, maintaining a specialist fleet that plays a vital role in the local community.

As an HGV Vehicle Technician, you will:
- Maintain and repair a fleet of appliances, vans, cars, and marine craft
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults
- Carry out all types of repairs, including hydraulics, engines, transmissions, braking systems, and ABS/traction control
- Fabricate basic components as required
- Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections
- Undertake repairs both at the workshop and on-site at service locations
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards
The successful candidate will have:
- A relevant Level 3 Mechanical qualification (NVQ, apprenticeship, or equivalent)
- Proven experience diagnosing and repairing complex vehicle faults
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, diesel/petrol engines, automatic transmissions, and braking systems
