We are currently recruiting for an experienced HSE Inspector to join a busy fabrication operation in Wallsend. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys being visible on the shop floor and actively driving positive health, safety and environmental behaviours.
Your most important tasks:
- Hands-on role based within an office in the fabrication hall, working closely alongside Supervisors.
- Regularly walking the hall with a focus on influencing behaviours and building a strong HSE culture.
- Overseeing Supervisors and the wider workforce from an HSE perspective.
- Managing any issues relating to noise complaints from neighbouring properties, including taking appropriate mitigation measures and stopping certain works where required.
- Liaising with the client, including potential involvement in weekly joint client inspections.
- Producing clear HSE reports and action trackers.
- Carrying out incident investigations and producing investigation reports where necessary.
- Driving continuous improvement in HSE standards and workforce behaviours.
Requirements:
- NEBOSH Certificate
- Has experience working in a fabrication, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environment.
- Confident communicating with Supervisors, operatives, and clients.
- Proactive, practical, and comfortable challenging unsafe behaviours when required.
- Able to produce clear, concise reports and follow up on actions.
