Our client is a well-established Retail and Commercial Contractor delivering projects across the UK with values of up to £15 million. Due to continued growth, they are currently seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee construction works on a distribution project based in Gateshead.

This role requires a proactive and organised individual with strong leadership skills who can effectively manage site operations, subcontractors, and health & safety compliance to ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing day-to-day site operations on a busy construction / fit-out project
  • Coordinating subcontractors and ensuring works are carried out to programme
  • Maintaining and enforcing high standards of health & safety compliance
  • Conducting site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings
  • Monitoring progress and reporting updates to the project team
  • Ensuring work is completed to required quality standards and deadlines
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, and suppliers on site

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager within construction or fit-out projects
  • Valid CSCS Card
  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
  • First Aid at Work Certificate
  • Asbestos Awareness
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple trades and maintain programme deadlines
