We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced and motivated Communications Specialist to join their Corporate Affairs team. This is a varied, hands-on role offering the opportunity to work across both internal and external communications within a fast-paced, project-led environment in the construction sector.

The Role

  • Taking responsibility for delivering high-quality communications content and PR activity across multiple channels and stakeholders.
  • Working with internal teams to generate ideas and plan communications activity.
  • Writing and producing engaging content for press releases, social media, internal communications and website updates.
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to obtain approvals and ensure accuracy.
  • Organising PR opportunities and supporting media activity on live construction sites.
  • Visiting sites across the North East and Yorkshire to capture content and support PR delivery.
  • Managing and coordinating LinkedIn and wider social media activity.
  • Supporting media monitoring activity and tracking coverage and campaign performance.
  • Ensuring consistent application of brand guidelines across all communications.
  • Supporting website content updates and uploads via CMS platforms (Umbraco).

About You

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in communications, PR or marketing.
  • Strong written communication and content creation skills.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders at different levels.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a busy workload.
  • Experience producing content for social media, press and internal communications.
  • Confident using LinkedIn as part of a communications strategy.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office packages.
  • A proactive, professional and detail-focused approach.

A full UK driving licence is essential, along with willingness to travel across regional sites. Experience within the construction sector is desirable but not essential.
