About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Design Manager (or a Senior Design Coordinator looking to step up) to take ownership of the design process across multiple projects. You will play a key role in managing design development from concept through to completion, ensuring technical accuracy, compliance, and coordination between all project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the design process from tender through to delivery.
- Liaise with architects, engineers, and internal teams to develop detailed design solutions.
- Review and manage technical drawings, specifications, and design documentation.
- Ensure designs meet building regulations, planning conditions, and client requirements.
- Lead design meetings and ensure smooth communication between design and construction teams.
- Identify design risks, constraints, and opportunities for value engineering.
- Oversee the integration of design changes and updates during the project lifecycle.
About You
- Proven experience as a Design Manager or Design Coordinator within housebuilding, construction, or architectural environments.
- Strong technical knowledge of construction methods and building regulations.
- Ability to read, interpret, and review architectural and engineering drawings.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills with a collaborative approach.
- Proficient in relevant design and project software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).
- Degree-qualified in Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
