We are currently recruiting for an experienced MIG Welder to join a growing manufacturer specialising in light gauge steel (LGS) products and assemblies. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy production environment with consistent work, regular overtime and long-term career prospects.
The Role
Working from engineering drawings and production schedules, you will be responsible for welding and assembling light gauge steel components used within the construction and manufacturing sectors. Duties will include:
- MIG welding light gauge mild steel sections and components.
- Welding brackets, connection plates and fabricated steel assemblies.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Carrying out tack welding and final welds to production standards.
- Using grinders and hand tools for preparation and finishing work.
- Inspecting completed welds to ensure quality standards are met.
- Supporting the assembly and fabrication team when required.
Requirements
- Previous MIG welding experience within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
- Experience working with thin gauge steel sections.
- Competent using grinders and fabrication hand tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
