We are currently recruiting for an experienced Steel Assembly Operative to join a busy and growing manufacturing company based in Crook, County Durham. This is a hands-on role assembling pre-fabricated and pre-drilled sheet metal components using nuts, bolts, screws and hand tools. The position offers excellent earning potential through regular overtime opportunities.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assembling pre-fabricated sheet metal components to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Using nuts, bolts and screws to build steel assemblies.
  • Operating impact drivers and other hand tools safely and efficiently.
  • Using metal grinders to prepare and finish components.
  • Measuring materials and completed assemblies using tape measures.
  • Carrying out quality checks to ensure products meet required standards.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a steel assembly, fabrication, manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Competent using an impact driver.
  • Experience using metal grinders.
  • Ability to accurately use a tape measure.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Reliable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
