CDM Recruitment are working with a well-established and growing engineering manufacturer to recruit a Junior Controls Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with PLC, controls or automation experience who is looking to further develop their career within a supportive engineering environment. The role offers exposure to the full project lifecycle, from design and development through to commissioning and technical support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the design and development of control systems and automation solutions
- PLC programming, testing and modification
- Produce and update electrical schematics and technical documentation
- Support commissioning activities and fault finding
- Work closely with Design, Production and Project teams
- Provide technical support for existing products and systems
- Participate in continuous improvement and product development activities
The Ideal Candidate:
- HNC/HND or Degree qualified in Electrical, Electronic, Controls or Automation Engineering
- Previous experience within a controls, automation or electrical engineering environment
- Knowledge of PLC programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley or similar)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Keen to develop technically and progress within a growing business

- Salary circa £38,000 - £42,000 depending on experience
