Our client is seeking a hands-on Site Facilities Engineer to join their team in Cramlington. This is a key role responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of all site facilities, utilities, and infrastructure, supporting business continuity and operational excellence. This position will suit a practical, electrically qualified engineer who enjoys being on the tools, while also taking ownership of compliance, contractor management, and continuous improvement.
What you’ll be doing:
- Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on site facilities and utilities, including compressors, boilers, chillers, HVAC, and building services.
- Responding to breakdowns effectively, prioritising tasks to minimise downtime.
- Ensuring all statutory inspections and preventive maintenance activities are completed on schedule and fully documented.
- Taking responsibility for health, safety, and environmental compliance, working in line with legislation and company procedures.
- Managing on-site contractors, including inductions, permits to work, and safe systems of work.
- Liaising with suppliers and manufacturers for parts, repairs, and technical support.
- Identifying and delivering energy-saving and efficiency improvement projects.
- Maintaining accurate and compliant maintenance records and documentation.
- Continuously reviewing and optimising preventive maintenance strategies.
Who we’re looking for:
- A time-served electrician with 17th Edition (or later).
- Strong experience working with site facilities, utilities, and infrastructure.
- Proven ability to work in a hands-on maintenance role.
- Experience managing contractors and compliance activities.
- NEBOSH qualification (desirable).
- Well organised, self-motivated, and proactive.
- A safety-first mindset, leading by example at all times.
