The main focus of the role will be operating and setting a Doosan 400 CNC turning centre with Fanuc controls.. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced machinist who enjoys working on one-off, small-batch and repeat components, rather than simply producing the same parts day in, day out. The Role You will be responsible for: * Setting and tooling CNC turning machinery * Programming and modifying programs using Fanuc controls * Producing one-off, small-batch and repeat components * Carrying out both rough and finish machining * Working with components requiring spherical/radiused machining * Selecting appropriate tooling and machining methods * Inspecting your own work and maintaining quality standards * Working independently and helping to identify opportunities to make better use of machine capacity * Supporting other machining operations when required The business also has Colchester lathes, used both conventionally and as basic CNC/teach machines, as well as XYZ VMC and ProTrak machinery.
