CDM Recruitment is working with a well-established client in the steel fabrication industry who are looking to recruit an experienced Fabrication Painter & Sawyer.
The role will involve cutting, preparing and painting steel sections and fabricated components within a busy workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating bandsaws to cut steel accurately to drawings and cutting lists.
- Preparing steel components through grinding, cleaning and deburring.
- Applying primers, topcoats and protective industrial coatings.
- Using brushes, rollers and spray equipment.
- Ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards.
- Loading and unloading materials using a forklift and overhead crane.
- Maintaining good housekeeping and safe working practices.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience in steel fabrication, engineering or manufacturing.
- Experience operating mechanical saws.
- Experience with industrial painting/coatings.
- Able to read engineering drawings and cutting lists.
- Good attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
- Forklift licence would be advantageous.
- Overhead crane experience would be beneficial.
