We are looking for a skilled Vehicle & Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our team. Reporting to the Duty Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out cost-effective repairs and maintenance on a variety of vehicles and equipment. You will ensure work is completed to a high standard while adhering to health & safety regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on customer vehicles/equipment.
- Respond to breakdowns within designated time frames.
- Complete service sheets, job cards, and other paperwork accurately.
- Maintain clear communication with Workshop Office colleagues regarding job progress.
- Adhere to health & safety procedures, including PPE usage and hazard awareness.
- Keep workspaces clean and hazard-free, including company vehicles.
- Drive and maneuver vehicles within the workshop or airport as required (subject to appropriate training/licensing).
- Ensure compliance with environmental policies and correct disposal of hazardous materials.
- Promote a safety-first culture, reporting accidents and near-miss incidents as required.
Requirements:
Essential:
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence.
- Eligibility to obtain an Airside Pass.
- Knowledge of mechanical/engineering principles.
- Strong health & safety awareness.
- Customer-focused mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
Desirable:
- Experience in the motor or airport industry.
- Familiarity with Ground Support Equipment (GSE), HGVs, or plant equipment.
- Forklift licence.
- Understanding of vehicle hydraulics and electrics.
- HGV/PSV Licence.
Qualifications:
- Automotive Apprenticeship in Vehicle Repair or Technology.
- City & Guilds, BTEC, NVQ, or equivalent in Heavy Motor Vehicle/Plant Maintenance & Repair.
- Technical certificates related to vehicle/plant machinery maintenance.
