Building Surveyor – Damp & Mould Specialist

We’re working with a growing residential services firm that’s now looking to bring in its first Building Surveyor, with a particular focus on damp and mould investigations. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to take ownership of a new role and play a key part in shaping how building surveying is delivered within the business. You’ll be covering a mix of social housing and private homes, helping to resolve issues around damp, mould, and disrepair – and offering clear, practical advice to clients. With plans to grow this side of the business, there’s real scope here for progression, and the chance to help build a small team over time.
The role:
- Carrying out damp, mould, and general condition surveys in occupied homes
- Preparing reports with clear, evidence-based recommendations
- Supporting clients with technical advice, both on-site and in writing
- Working closely with residents, contractors, and internal teams
- Helping shape the service offer and contributing to future growth
What we’re looking for:
- A background in residential building surveying, with strong knowledge of damp, mould, and related issues
- Confident working independently, managing your own workload
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working in occupied homes, including with vulnerable residents
- Ideally MRICS or working towards it – but not essential
- Full UK driving licence
