HSEQ Advisor
Location: North East
Salary: £45,000-£55,000 + uplift for night work
Job Type: Full-time
We are currently recruiting for an experienced HSEQ Advisor to join an established contractor in the north east.
This is an office-based role with regular travel to site, with the position split approximately 50/50 between day and night shift work. Night shifts will attract an uplift in pay.
The role would suit an HSEQ professional with a general construction background. Civils or Highways experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide HSEQ support and guidance across the business and sites
- Carry out site inspections, audits and investigations
- Support risk assessments, method statements and HSEQ documentation
- Monitor compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation
- Work closely with site and operational teams to maintain high standards
- Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions
- Promote a positive health and safety culture
- Support continuous improvement across HSEQ processes
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience in an HSEQ/H&S Advisor role
- Construction experience essential
- NEBOSH or relevant H&S qualification
- Good understanding of UK health & safety legislation
- Confident carrying out site inspections and working with operational teams
- Comfortable travelling to sites and working occasional night shifts
- Civils experience advantageous
