A well established North East manufacturing group, supplying engineered composite building components to major national housebuilders, is continuing to expand following the award of significant supply agreements across the UK. As part of this growth, they are looking to appoint a CAD Technician with strong 2D and 3D CAD capability to support projects within the residential sector.

The role

You will be responsible for producing accurate technical drawings and detailed 3D models for composite building components, ensuring full compliance with current building regulations and client specifications. Working closely with internal technical and production teams, you will play a key role in turning design concepts into manufacturable solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Produce detailed 2D technical drawings using AutoCAD
  • Develop 3D models and coordinated designs in Inventor
  • Ensure all drawings meet relevant building standards and regulations
  • Liaise with production and technical teams to support efficient manufacture
  • Amend and update drawings in line with client and project requirements

About you

  • Proven experience using AutoCAD and Inventor in a technical design role
  • Strong understanding of technical drawing standards
  • Experience within manufacturing, construction or building components would be advantageous
  • Detail focused with good communication skills
