We are supporting a long-standing aviation services client at Edinburgh Airport with the appointment of an experienced HGV / GSE Technician to join their established engineering team. This role offers long-term stability within a highly regulated, safety-critical environment.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, servicing and repair of a varied fleet of Heavy Goods Vehicles and Ground Support Equipment (GSE). The role requires a methodical, safety-focused engineer with a strong mechanical background and a consistent employment history.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on HGV and GSE fleet
  • Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in a timely manner
  • Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with company, regulatory and airside safety standards
  • Accurately completing maintenance documentation and job records
  • Supporting operational availability and minimising vehicle downtime
  • Participating in an on-call rota following successful airside clearance

Working Hours

06:00 – 14:30 (2 weeks) 08:00 – 16:30 (2 weeks) Shift times rotate between 06:00 – 14:30 and 08:00 – 16:30. On-call duties apply on a rota basis once airside access has been obtained.

Requirements

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Motor Mechanics or equivalent
  • Experience working on HGVs, buses or coaches is highly desirable
  • Applications from car mechanics will be considered where strong tenure and relevant experience can be demonstrated
  • Proven diagnostic and fault-finding capability
  • A stable employment history is essential
  • Ability to successfully pass airside background and security checks
