We are working with a large, highly successful M&E contractor to recruit an experienced Senior Mechanical Estimator for their Regional office in Leeds. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented Mechanical Estimator looking to work on larger, more complex, and higher-value projects while having a clear and accelerated progression path into the Estimating Manager role for the Yorkshire and North region.
About the Role
As Senior Mechanical Estimator you will be responsible for producing accurate and competitive mechanical estimates across a range of high-profile commercial, industrial, and technically complex projects. You will play a key role in the continued growth of the Northern division.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed mechanical estimates from first principles for projects ranging from £1m to multi-million pound schemes
- Review tender documentation, specifications, and drawings to identify risks and opportunities
- Liaise with supply chain partners to secure competitive pricing
- Attend pre- and post-tender meetings with clients and design teams
- Work closely with the commercial and project teams to ensure seamless handover of successful bids
- Support the development of junior estimators within the team
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator within the M&E / Building Services sector
- Strong commercial awareness and excellent analytical skills
- Thorough knowledge of mechanical building services systems
- Experience pricing a range of project types (including data centres, commercial, or high-tech schemes is advantageous)
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple tenders
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
