Our client, a leading commercial engineering company, is seeking a dedicated Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager to join their growing team. With a focus on designing, manufacturing, and maintaining bespoke products, they pride themselves on quality, innovation, and safety. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HSE professional to make a real impact across all operations, from engineering and manufacturing to workshop and facilities management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s HSE management system to ensure full compliance with UK legislation and industry standards.
- Conduct risk assessments, hazard management, and safety audits across engineering, manufacturing, and vehicle maintenance operations.
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Design and deliver tailored HSE training programs to employees at all levels.
- Manage site facilities, including maintenance, cleanliness, contractor coordination, and emergency preparedness.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety culture and sustainability practices.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote sustainable workplace practices.
Key Requirements:
- NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent (minimum).
- IOSH membership or equivalent professional body.
- 3+ years’ experience in HSE management, ideally within engineering or manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation, environmental regulations, and workshop/machinery safety.
- Proven experience in risk assessments, audits, incident investigations, and developing HSE procedures.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence teams at all levels.
- Proactive, organized, and passionate about fostering a safe and healthy workplace.
