CDM Recruitment are delighted to be working with a multi-award-winning national provider of heating, insulation and renewable energy solutions, who are looking to appoint an experienced Design Coordinator to their expanding technical team. With a strong pipeline of retrofit and low-carbon projects across social housing, private rental and commercial sectors, this is a key role that ensures all design activity runs efficiently across multiple live schemes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the main point of contact between the business, external design consultants and specialist subcontractors
  • Managing the issue, review, approval and distribution of drawings, specifications and calculations
  • Chairing and minuting design team meetings and keeping accurate project trackers up to date
  • Ensuring full compliance with PAS 2035, MCS, Building Regulations and maintaining the golden thread of information via Viewpoint for Projects
  • Supporting pre-construction and tender work by identifying and highlighting technical risks
  • Providing clear, buildable design information to support site delivery teams

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience as a Design Coordinator or Design Manager within construction, building services or the renewables sector
  • Strong understanding of M&E systems and energy-efficiency or retrofit technologies
  • Confidence reviewing and challenging technical submissions
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage several projects at once
  • A relevant qualification such as HNC, HND or a Degree in Building Services, Construction Management or similar
  • Experience working within PAS 2035 and MCS-compliant projects, along with awareness of the Building Safety Act, would be a real advantage.
