B1 Licensed Engineer – Boeing 737 Type Rated (Contract)

Location: North East England

Shifts: 5-5-4 rotation, 7am–7pm (approx. 200 hours per month)

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Length: Until 31st March 2026 (extension likely through April)

IR35: Outside IR35

Rate: Competitive hourly rate 55ph (Negotiable)

About the Opportunity

A leading UK MRO is expanding its operations and looking for experienced B1 Licensed Engineers with a current Boeing 737 Type Rating to support increased maintenance demand for the winter season.

You’ll join a professional, fast-paced engineering environment, working on modern commercial aircraft and delivering first-class maintenance and rectification to strict safety standards.

This role is ideal for engineers seeking a steady, high-volume contract through the winter period with strong potential for extension or seasonal return next year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Boeing 737 aircraft.
  • Diagnose, rectify, and certify mechanical systems within the scope of authorisation.
  • Ensure full compliance with Part-145 and CAA regulations.
  • Maintain clear and accurate maintenance records.
  • Support colleagues and uphold a strong safety culture on shift.

Requirements

  • Current CAA Part-66 B1.1 Licence (mandatory).
  • Boeing 737 Type Rating (essential).
  • A320 Type Rating and/or C Licence (advantageous; potential Lead role).
  • Demonstrable recency – minimum 200 logbook entries within the last 2 years.
  • Valid EWIS, Human Factors, and Fuel Tank Safety certificates.
  • Experience in either Base Maintenance or Line Maintenance.
  • Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available for contract roles).
