Are you an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician looking for a new, permanent opportunity with a great work-life balance? We're hiring a motivated and reliable technician to join our engineering team in Newcastle Upon Tyne, working a continental shift pattern that doesn't include weekends.

About the Role:

As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you'll be responsible for the maintenance and repair of equipment, services, and the fabric of the building, ensuring maximum efficiency, safety, and uptime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out reactive, planned, preventative, and predictive maintenance on a wide range of site equipment.
  • Accurately record and communicate maintenance activities using written, verbal, or electronic means.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards (IEE regulations) and internal HSE procedures.
  • Assist in identifying and fixing faults across electrical systems, PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical equipment.
  • Participate in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and take ownership of solutions.
  • Review maintenance tasks and provide feedback or corrective action plans.

What You’ll Need:

  • Time-served Maintenance Technician background
  • Solid electrical maintenance experience within an engineering environment (5+ years)
  • Familiarity with PLC systems, particularly Allen Bradley
  • Exposure to mechanical systems alongside electrical expertise
  • Good understanding of health & safety procedures

Desirable Qualifications:

  • 17th Edition IEE Regulations
  • HNC in Engineering
  • NEBOSH or IOSH Certification
