We are working with our client who are a successful Manufacturing company based in Bishop Auckland in the search for a Design Engineer. You will be a key member of the design team and be responsible for the development of bespoke products from concept to production. Experience working with machined products is preferred. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established global business with fantastic benefits and progression opportunities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Working with the Technical Manager and Quality Manager to support and improve existing products and developing new products in order to expand the company’s range, providing support to all functions within the organisation.
- Designing and managing the engineers working on machined products, developing engineering core business activities ensuring compatibility with the company operational procedures.
- Providing technical support directly to customers, suppliers and the sales team. This may involve some travel within the UK as well as overseas.
- Utilising and maintaining 3-D Solid Works computer aided design (CAD) system in conjunction with Manufacturing Resource Planning System (MRP) to effectively manage products including, but not limited to, bills of material, assembly drawings and detail drawings.
- Liaising, where appropriate, with the Quality Manager, Operations Manager and CEO to optimise product designs, quality and to minimise costs.
Qualifications:
- Degree / HNC or similar equivalent in mechanical engineering.
- Solidworks experience.
- Experience with FEA and analysis preferred.
