We're looking for an ambitious, commercially driven Business Development Manager to help drive the next phase of our growth by generating new business opportunities, developing strategic client relationships and increasing our presence across both public and private sector markets.
This is an exciting opportunity to represent multiple specialist businesses within the group, offering clients a complete property and building services solution.
The Companies You'll Represent
CDM Contractors Ltd – Principal Contractor specialising in refurbishment, passive fire protection, maintenance and insurance reinstatement.
CDM Electrical & Fire – Electrical installations, fire alarms, emergency lighting, access control and compliance services.
CGE Southern – Plumbing, heating, mechanical services and facilities maintenance.
Bio Response – Specialist biohazard cleaning, trauma cleaning, environmental cleaning and specialist decontamination.
SEB Aircon – Air conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration and HVAC maintenance and installation.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Group Directors, you will be responsible for identifying, developing and securing new business opportunities across all companies within CDM Group.
You will work closely with each operational team to understand client requirements and provide tailored service solutions that maximise cross-selling opportunities across the Group.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate new business opportunities through networking, meetings and proactive sales activity.
- Develop relationships with decision makers across both public and private sectors.
- Promote the full range of services offered by every company within CDM Group.
- Identify framework opportunities and procurement routes.
- Attend networking events, exhibitions and industry conferences.
- Arrange and deliver capability presentations.
- Work alongside estimating and operational teams to convert opportunities into secured projects.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and CRM system.
- Produce monthly sales reports and pipeline forecasts.
- Achieve agreed turnover and profit targets.
- Develop long-term strategic relationships with existing and prospective clients.

About You
We're looking for someone who can demonstrate
- Proven experience in business development or sales within construction, M&E, facilities management or building services.
- A track record of winning new business and achieving sales targets.
- Excellent networking and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to identify opportunities across multiple service lines.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Experience working with public sector procurement, frameworks or consultants would be highly advantageous.
