Senior Agile QA – CDL Software
Location: North West UK – Hybrid
Compensation: £48,000 – £54,000 per year
We’re looking for a Senior Agile Test QA to join our ranks. With a strong collaborative focus and a drive for continuous improvement, you’ll play a key part in supporting the implementation of strategic initiatives which enable better practices for our Delivery Teams to develop features that delight our customers. You’ll be an experienced Agile advocate, with a strong testing background and a desire to iterate, innovate, and instigate quality‑driven approaches and processes. You’ll ideally have some automation skills to flex, and love to advocate for new ways to do things. You’ll be an inspiring teacher, coaching and mentoring others to improve their skills and acting as a role‑model to develop the stars of tomorrow.
Key Responsibilities
- Support delivery of key initiatives and improvements to drive a quality culture in testing roles and beyond.
- Champion the Testing Vision, providing everyday role‑modeling, motivating, mentoring and helping others to develop their skills.
- Advocate for quality being everyone’s responsibility, embed better practices and a strong Test Pyramid automation focus.
- Consider functional and non‑functional quality including performance and security.
- Maintain a technically competent, knowledge‑driven presence and help cultivate an enjoyable, enthusiastic working environment.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Excellent understanding of Agile testing principles.
- Experience in fast‑paced Agile/Scrum environments.
- Cradle‑to‑grave approach to baking quality into software delivery.
- TDD and BDD techniques knowledge.
- Proficiency in a variety of testing techniques and approaches.
- Solution‑oriented mindset.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Proven coaching and mentoring experience.
- Positive, proactive ‘can‑do’ attitude.
- Problem‑solving and improvement delivery track record.
- Experience with cloud‑based and serverless infrastructure.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests.
- Proven knowledge of databases and query languages (SQL/NoSQL).
- Experience with automation tools such as Jest, Cucumber, Cypress.
- Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript preferred.
- Leadership capability desirable.
- Performance and security testing experience desirable.
- Insurance industry experience desirable.
