CDL are currently recruiting a transport planner, working in same day dispatch for our established client based in Warmley, Bristol. The ideal candidate will have experience working with express courier services, the ability to develop same day business in addition to having the experience and confidence to make decisions and provide pricing for new work. Working within a successful transport company you will be supported by a very experienced group of people and will work towards building your own team.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing a small fleet of vehicles
- Planning delivery routes to ensure optimal efficiency
- Sourcing sub-contractors when necessary
- Allocating jobs and briefing delivery drivers
- Achieving a high level of service
- Managing client relations
- Monitoring ETA reports
Candidates must:
- Have experience with planning in the transport industry
- Have a high level of UK geography knowledge
- Be able to communicate strongly in a busy working environment
- Have the ability to keep calm when under pressure
