We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for experienced Class 1 HGV Drivers based in the Immingham area. This is an excellent opportunity for professional HGV drivers looking for consistent Monday-to-Friday tramping work, competitive pay of £18.00 per hour, and the opportunity to work with a variety of vehicles and trailer types.

The role is based from our client's operation in Immingham, with UK-wide driving and deliveries.

The Role

As a Class 1 HGV Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and professional transportation of goods from the client's Immingham operation to various destinations across the UK. The role offers plenty of variety, with the majority of your work involving curtainsider trailers, alongside occasional work with:

  • Curtainsiders
  • Containers
  • Fridge trailers
  • Flatbeds

You will predominantly be driving MAN and DAF vehicles. This is a tramping-only position, so candidates must be comfortable staying away from home during the working week.

Overnight Parking

The role operates on a snap-parking basis, meaning drivers will not be expected to rely on laybys for overnight parking. Drivers should be comfortable with the requirements of tramping work and managing their rest periods and overnight parking responsibly and in accordance with the relevant regulations.

Loading, Unloading & Deliveries

One of the benefits of this role is that the majority of deliveries are forklifted on and off, meaning drivers will generally not be expected to undertake significant manual loading and unloading. There may be occasions where a small amount of handballing is required depending on the delivery, so drivers should be comfortable assisting when necessary. The manual handling element is expected to be minimal.

About You

We're looking for experienced, reliable and professional Class 1 drivers who are confident working independently and representing our client to a high standard. To be considered, you will need:

  • A valid Class 1 (C+E) licence
  • Minimum 2 years' Class 1 driving experience
  • To be 25 years of age or older
  • Previous HGV driving experience
  • A good understanding of drivers' hours and tachograph regulations
  • A professional and responsible approach to driving
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • The ability to work independently while tramping
  • Excellent timekeeping and reliability
  • The flexibility to stay away from home Monday to Friday

Curtainsider experience is highly desirable, while experience with containers, fridge trailers or flatbeds would also be advantageous.
