ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Class 1 (C+E) HGV Driver, you will be carrying out container-related transport work in and around the Hull area. The role is ideal for drivers who are comfortable operating an articulated HGV and are looking for regular work within the container and haulage sector. Your responsibilities will include carrying out assigned deliveries and collections safely and efficiently, completing the necessary vehicle and load checks, and ensuring all work is completed in accordance with company procedures and UK road transport legislation. You will be expected to maintain a professional attitude at all times and represent the company positively when dealing with customers, sites and other road users.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operating a Class 1 (C+E) articulated HGV safely and professionally
• Carrying out container transport work
• Completing deliveries and collections as instructed
• Conducting daily vehicle safety checks
• Ensuring loads are secure and transported safely
• Following agreed routes and delivery instructions
• Completing required paperwork and delivery documentation
• Adhering to drivers' hours and working-time regulations
• Reporting any vehicle defects, incidents or issues promptly
• Maintaining a high standard of vehicle care
• Following site, customer and company health & safety procedures
• Providing professional customer service when required
• Working efficiently to meet operational requirements

DRIVER REQUIREMENTS

• A valid Class 1 (C+E) HGV licence
• Relevant HGV driving experience
• A professional and responsible approach to driving
• Good knowledge of UK roads
• Excellent timekeeping and attendance
• A strong commitment to road safety
• The ability to work independently
• Good communication skills
• Flexibility regarding start times
• A positive and reliable attitude

CONTAINER EXPERIENCE

Previous container experience is highly desirable for this position. Experience working around ports, container yards, haulage operations or similar environments would be advantageous. If you have relevant Class 1 experience but limited container experience, suitability will depend on the requirements of the available work.
