We are looking for a technically minded Senior Business Analyst who is comfortable operating at the intersection of business analysis, systems analysis and software delivery.
The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with developers, architects and product teams to understand complex systems, investigate issues, analyse application behaviour, and help shape technical solutions.
This role requires someone who is naturally curious, willing to explore source code when required, leverage AI-assisted development tools, and rapidly build an understanding of complex platforms and integrations.
The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between business and technical teams, ensuring solutions are both technically feasible and aligned to business outcomes.
There is also a requirement to interact with clients and CDL teams across the business.

- What You’ll Do
- Lead business and systems analysis activities across complex change initiatives and cross-squad programmes.
- Partner with Product Owners to shape, prioritise and refine the squad backlog in line with business objectives.
- Elicit, analyse and document business, functional and technical requirements using appropriate techniques and modelling tools.
- Work with developers, architects and stakeholders to define feasible, scalable and maintainable solutions.
- Investigate complex incidents, defects and production issues, performing impact and root cause analysis.
- Analyse system behaviour, integrations, APIs, data flows and application architecture to support solution design and troubleshooting.
- Review technical artefacts to understand system behaviour and implementation impacts.
- Break down complex business problems into well‑defined user stories and deliverable outcomes.
- Lead and contribute to solution design, design reviews and architectural discussions.
- Leverage AI-powered analysis and engineering tools to improve productivity, investigation and solution discovery.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies and ensure work items meet agreed Definition of Ready and Definition of Done standards.
- Mentor and support analysts whilst contributing to the Analyst Community of Practice and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
- Extensive Business Analysis and Systems Analysis experience within complex software delivery environments.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to analyse complex business and technical challenges.
- Experience working closely with software engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of application architecture, integrations, APIs, data flows and system design principles.
- Ability to investigate technical issues and perform root cause analysis across multiple systems.
- Comfortable reviewing code and technical documentation to support analysis and troubleshooting activities.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and workshop facilitation skills.
- Strong requirements engineering skills, including User Stories, Acceptance Criteria, BDD and Agile delivery practices.
- Experience using modelling techniques and tools to document business processes, systems and solutions.
- Experience using AI‑assisted analysis or coding tools to support investigation, documentation and solution design.
- Knowledge of Jira (or equivalent) and Agile methodologies, principles and practices.
- Self‑motivated, organised and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Desirable
- Insurance or Financial Services experience.
- Experience with Java‑based applications and cloud platforms such as AWS.
- Knowledge of SQL, databases and system integration patterns.
- Experience working on large‑scale transformation or modernisation programmes.
