Our client is looking for a qualified accountant to join their company based in Bexhill with great opportunities for progression.
You will be working with our diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards. You will work closely with the Managers and/or Directors who will review your work and provide you with regular feedback and support. This mentoring approach, on the job, supports the firm’s commitment to offering significant opportunities for career development, in line with the firm’s objectives and strong emphasis on professional growth.
Main Duties

Producing accounts for clients from Sole Traders to Limited companies.

Preparing self-assessment tax returns and corporation tax returns.

Preparation of VAT returns from primary records as well as from client’s software.

Taking client calls and responding to email queries.

Delegate effectively to trainees.

Mentor and assist in the development of junior staff.

Develop reviewing skills.

Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.

Attend and contribute to meetings as requested.

Intermediate IT skills in Microsoft Office, Excel and Word.

Ideally ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent, having 3 years minimum working in a Practice.

Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and tax regulations.

Confident in using a range of bookkeeping software (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks etc).

Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with a range of clients.

Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.

Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
