About The Role

Job Purpose: Reporting to the Operations Planning Manager, the Operations Planner will play an important role within the wider Operations department. Working closely with Assembly and Stores, they will be responsible for ensuring all Assembly Builds are accurately scheduled through the relevant departments to meet the customer schedules using our ERP System.

Responsibilities

  • Has experience and knowledge of operations planning in line with best practice and governance frameworks.
  • Supports the Operations function by creating, managing and communicating Operations Plans using our ERP system, ensuring customer expectations are aligned with internal plans, with project teams aware of time commitments and stakeholders updated on milestones and deliverables.
  • Highlights any risks to project schedules as early as identified and puts mitigation plans in place if necessary.
  • Uses own initiative to spot and problem‑solve, with the confidence to challenge for resolutions and issues promptly.
  • Works independently under limited supervision, managing own Operation Plans with pro‑active plan control via regular planning reviews, tracking schedule adherence and acting on any stoppages or slippages to mitigate any impact.
  • Participates in and chairs regular operational meetings.
  • Communicates clearly any actions required by internal departments to ensure plans are maintained with live data in the ERP system as a single source of truth.
  • Co‑ordinates timely closure of shop orders with Ops Management team to ensure finished goods inventory levels are accurate.
  • Uses advanced Excel reporting to analyse data and information relative to own project portfolio, providing solutions or escalations.
  • Promotes a culture of continuous improvement within Operations based on regular process reviews and effective root cause identification and problem‑solving.
  • Maintains daily/weekly/monthly lobby actions, tasks, reports, and KPIs using time‑management tools.
  • Promotes a positive Health and Safety culture within the Factory Operations teams, ensuring the Home Safe Everyday message is at the forefront of everyone in the team.

Other Duties

To adhere to CDE policy and practice. To carry out any other duties within reason and capability associated with this role. Always advocating for Health and Safety.

Required Criteria

  • 3rd level qualification or similar extensive experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ planning experience in a similar role, ideally within Operations, Project Planning, Manufacturing, Engineering, or Construction.
  • Experience of planning best practice and methodology.
  • Advanced Excel reporting experience.
  • Proven organisational skills with the ability to effectively plan, organise and control daily workload.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage own priorities.
  • Attentive to detail and proactive.
  • Able to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Dependable, reliable and enthusiastic, energetic self‑starter able to work on own initiative.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Desired Criteria

  • Degree in a relevant discipline.
  • ERP system experience.
  • Assembly Planning experience.
  • Resource and capacity planning knowledge.
  • Power BI experience.
