Our Health, Safety and Environment Manager plays a pivotal role in embedding and advancing a positive, proactive safety culture across CDE. Working in close partnership with management teams across all regions, you will act as a visible HSE leader and champion, driving high standards of performance and ensuring continuous improvement in our systems, processes, and behaviours. You will be instrumental in strengthening our HSE legacy and positioning CDE as an industry exemplar—ensuring full compliance with legislative requirements while embedding best practice across the design, manufacture, and installation of our equipment. Through your expertise, you will help shape a culture where safety, sustainability and accountability are at the core of everything we do.

What you’ll do

  • Support the development and delivery of HSE strategies aligned to CDE’s business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrate visible leadership and commitment to HSE through your behaviours, influencing and embedding a positive safety culture across the organisation.
  • Lead, develop and manage the HSE team to deliver a consistent, high-quality service across all areas of CDE.
  • Act as a key liaison between senior leadership, operational teams and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of HSE expectations, priorities and performance.
  • Build strong relationships across the business to embed HSE considerations into day-to-day operations and decision-making, including leading SHE Committees and forums.
  • Champion a proactive safety culture that promotes shared ownership, accountability and continuous improvement at all levels.
  • Design and deliver initiatives that drive workforce engagement in HSE programmes and campaigns.
  • Coach and influence managers and supervisors to lead by example and actively promote safe behaviours within their teams.
  • Manage and analyse data from CDE’s Safety Portal and engagement tools to identify trends, root causes and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support and lead incident investigations, ensuring a focus on learning, prevention and effective communication of outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant HSE legislation, standards and internal policies across a multi‑jurisdictional environment.
  • Monitor, analyse and report on HSE KPIs, producing clear and insightful reporting for both operational teams and senior leadership.
  • Oversee HSE training delivery through the ERP system, working in partnership with the HSE coordinator.
  • Lead and continuously improve the internal HSE audit programme across all departments.
  • Prepare for and support external audits, including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification processes.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment (typically 3–5 years+).
  • Strong working knowledge of HSE legislation, standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing an HSE team.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining integrated management systems aligned to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) Level 6 in Occupational Safety and Health.
