About the Role
The Electrical Team Lead will oversee the electrical workflow at our facility, ensuring projects progress in line with the production schedule. The role requires a hands‑on approach, coaching team members, resolving issues and acting as the liaison between staff and senior management. The successful candidate will guide and train employees, ensuring high‑quality workmanship and adherence to safety, H&S compliance, 6S, and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Ensure projects are electrically progressed according to the production schedule.
- Prioritise and manage allocated work effectively.
- Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standards, including tidy wiring, swarf removal, and instilling a culture of quality workmanship.
- Ensure all test inspection processes on pre‑wiring cabling and control panels are fully tested and recorded via CDE’s checkproof app before despatch.
- Maintain safety standards and full H&S compliance in all operations.
- Comply with 6S adherence and company policy.
- Other duties may be required to fulfil the role’s requirements.
- Adhere to CDE’s HR and H&S policies.
Key Skills, Knowledge, Attributes & Experience
- GCSE English and Maths grade C or higher.
- Fully trained electrician.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar environment.
- Experience with SWA cables and 3‑phase supply, working with live panels.
- Ability to provide robust training to new starters and graduates.
- Coaching and mentoring experience to develop electrician skills and monitor competencies.
- Effective resource allocation to keep schedules on track.
Additional Requirements
- Adhere to CDE policy and practice.
- Protect confidentiality of all information and data held privately.
- Carry out any other duties within reason related to this role.
Required Criteria
- Good secondary education with high numeracy and literacy.
- Engineering discipline or Qualified Electrician (or 5 years relevant experience).
- Experience supervising an electrical team.
- Knowledge of starter systems, VFD, Soft start, S/D and DOL systems.
- Experience testing control panels.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
- Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
- Ability to set and meet timelines and motivate a team.
- Works well under pressure.
- Dependable and reliable.
- Willingness to develop and adapt to new situations.
- Available to work flexible hours.

- Proven organisational skills with effective planning and organising.
- 18th Edition Certification.
