The Legal Assistant is an entry-level role designed to support career development for a recent law graduate or a paralegal with an interest in commercial law, employment law and data protection. Working primarily within the Legal function, with some support to the Talent (HR) team, the role provides structured exposure to legal administration, compliance activities and selected HR processes within a global organisation.

Under guidance, you will support day-to-day legal and compliance activities, gradually building confidence and capability across commercial, employment and data protection matters, while gaining an understanding of how legal and HR functions operate together. This role is ideal for an individual who is curious, highly organised and detail-oriented, with a strong desire to learn and develop, and with the ambition to progress into a commercial, business, legal, HR or compliance-focused career.

Responsibilities
  • Legal & Paralegal Support
    • Support the Legal team with day-to-day legal and compliance activities.
    • Provide administrative and paralegal support to the Legal function, including drafting and maintaining standard legal documents and templates.
    • Assist with the review, tracking and organisation of contracts, NDAs and commercial agreements.
    • Assist with legal research across commercial contracts, and regulatory requirements.
    • Maintain accurate legal files, registers and document version control.
    • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather information required for legal reviews.
    • Track deadlines, actions and approvals relating to legal matters.
    • Support preparation of briefings, summaries and reports for senior stakeholders.
    • Carry out general administrative duties to support the effective operation of the Legal function.
    • Support the tendering and procurement process by assisting with the preparation, review and submission of tender documentation.
    • Assist in reviewing contractual terms, schedules and compliance requirements within tenders under supervision.
    • Coordinate with Legal, Commercial, Procurement and Finance teams to gather required information for tender responses.
    • Maintain accurate records of tender documentation, approvals and version control.
  • Data Protection & Compliance
    • Assist with GDPR and data protection administration, including maintaining logs and registers.
    • Support data protection and GDPR compliance activities, including record keeping and audits.
    • Support the coordination of data protection activities such as DPIAs and information requests.
    • Help promote good data protection practices through document updates and awareness initiatives.
  • Talent Support
    • Support compliance-related, people-focused projects.
    • Provide administrative support in relation to employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary and grievance processes.
    • Help maintain accurate employee records across HR systems and shared drives.
    • Assist with legal research relating to regional employment law and tax regulations.
    • Support the preparation of simple reports and data for HR and audit purposes.
  • Projects & Continuous Improvement
    • Assist with cross-functional projects involving Legal, Talent and compliance activities.
    • Identify opportunities to improve processes, templates and record-keeping.
    • Contribute to delivering a positive employee experience across all touchpoints.
  • Other Duties
    • Adhere to company policy, procedures and values at all times.
    • Undertake any other reasonable duties appropriate to the role and level.
