This is an exciting opportunity to work with the surgical care group clinical governance team. The successful candidate must have experience in complaints management, patient safety, and coordinating the timely completion of complaint/incident responses. A keen interest in patient safety and experience is essential. The candidate will be organised, digitally literate, professional, and have sound IG skills. The role is office based covering standard business hours; onsite presence is essential to support the delivery of service.

Responsibilities

  • Use IT efficiently to support the ADN with core care group meetings, live trackers and databases.
  • Be office based but maintain a visible presence amongst clinical staff to build trusted working relationships.
  • Work independently or within a team and meet time‑frames.
  • Apply sound knowledge of the complaints process, incident reporting system and risk register.
  • Communicate with stakeholders, including written reports and direct conversations with clinical staff and service users.
  • Work in partnership with a second facilitator and an admin support colleague, overseen by the associate director of nursing, Monday to Friday during business hours.
  • Maintain high standards of patient safety, risk management and support continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent.
  • Maths and English GCSE or equivalent.
  • Duty of Candour training.
  • Complaints training.

Experience

  • Complaints handling.
  • Recent NHS experience.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Audit experience.
  • Quality improvement.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Project management.

Special Skills & Knowledge

  • Knowledge of PSIRP (swarm huddles / after action reviews).
  • Information governance awareness.
  • Empathy and professional challenge.
  • Organisation and ability to deliver to deadlines.
  • Solid understanding of CQC/National Quality frameworks.
  • Report writing.

Special Requirements

  • Able to travel between 3 main sites.
  • This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and a Disclosure and Barring Service check will be required.

Salary

£32,073 to £34,592 a year (AFC Band 5 per annum pro rata).
